Song of the Week: “You Are Still Beautiful” by the Bartlebees. Three weeks ago I celebrated my birthday in the pretty German town of Augsburg. I knew little about Augsburg, other than that it was the birthplace of Bertolt Brecht. This being a more conservative corner of Germany, it took the city many years to recognize the great Marxist playwright, who had famously quipped that the best thing about Augsburg was the short train ride to Munich. Well we had a great time there, walking around the Rathausplatz, checking out the Romanic/Gothic Cathedral, the Roman ruins (Augsburg was in fact founded by Emperor Augustine), eating and drinking and hanging out with friends, including my old pal Armin Kaspar, drummer in the Bartlebees, who came up from Munich to see the show.
